How Moms Can Celebrate International Women’s Day
We love to celebrate work from home women every day at Hay There Social Media, but we also love that there is a specific day to commemorate women. International Women’s Day (IWD) is March 8, 2022 and the timing feels perfect to honor women and all of the complex dimensions of our personal and professional selves in a meaningful way. If you are a woman looking for more – a world with more diversity, equity, inclusivity and flexibility, then you are in good company with the team at Hay There Social Media.
We are thrilled to celebrate IWD in a big way this year through an upcoming webinar with Après on March 8, 2022 at 10:00am PT/ 1:00pm ET and YOU’RE INVITED. Read more!
The Mission of International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is now a worldwide observance of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, and an acknowledgement of the disparities that remain around the globe. IWD has numerous missions to accelerate women’s equality, including: Women and technology, women at work, empowerment and more.
One mission that speaks to our souls at Hay There Social Media is, “To forge inclusive work cultures where women’s careers thrive and their achievements are celebrated.” We know this resonates with our friends at Après, an organization that helps bring mothers back to the workforce.
According to International Women’s Day, where women work makes all the difference.
At Hay There, we believe in a new recipe for work + life integration. In our recipe for flexible jobs for women, you add your own unique ingredients resulting in a sense of fulfillment and a reclaimed professional identity. We no longer need to buy a prepackaged life; one where our role as caregivers inevitably hinders our professional development.
How Women Can Find Flexible Careers
We are encouraged when IWD shares that, “women are choosing progressive employers where their careers can thrive.” So here’s our notion:
If where women work makes all the difference and women are choosing progressive employers, what better way to prepare and double down on a thriving career than for women to choose THEMSELVES as employers.
We witness this everyday through our own experience and through the experiences of the women we train. This March 8th webinar with our friends at Après advances our commitment to helping more women discover HOW they can choose themselves as their employer.
IWD also says, “When women work for an inclusive employer where their career is supported, life can be very different. Yet time and time again, women the world over often find themselves working for an employer that doesn’t overtly support or value their contributions. Toxic work cultures, poor promotional opportunities, lack of flexibility, limited benefits, and pay inequity are some of the reasons women tend to look for a better employer.”
When women work for themselves, it eliminates a lack of flexibility and toxic work culture altogether. Limited career options are a thing of the past. The ingredients have expired and the status quo is no longer acceptable. Hay There Social Media has a proven new recipe for work + life integration that includes flexibility, technology, creativity and an in-demand skill set. But the key ingredient is a woman’s unique contribution to their work, resulting in a sense of fulfillment and a reclaimed professional identity.
Furthermore, through our ongoing network, we support and celebrate the way we operate as work + life integrators. Women are able to set their rates and say “yes” to projects that fulfill their goals. We want to share what we know is possible, because we live it every day.

Places Moms Can Find Work
According to IWD, Après is one of the top useful career platforms for women to look for work. At Hay There, you could say Après is our kindred spirit because of the incredible resources they offer to women during a critical and deeply personal time in their lives. Après CEO and Founder Stacey Delo is a relentless champion for women as she leads working mothers into career comebacks.
In fact, we have had women find Hay There through Après, successfully complete our training, and smash their resume gap – and get right back into work for themselves as a social media manager. We’ve even had women who found us through Après go on to take on full-time employment and keep social media as their side hustle.
“It was exciting…I felt empowered, I felt like I was actually a business owner. It felt great knowing that I was working again. I no longer had a gap.” ~A Hay There INsider who found us via Après
What Moms Can Do to Consider New Careers
If you are a woman looking for what’s next; if you are looking at new career options or considering re-entering (perhaps with more clarity on what your work environment must offer including flexibility), then we are excited to connect with you through this upcoming webinar we are leading with Après on International Women’s Day.
If you are ready to erase the motherhood penalty and empower yourself in a new way, be sure to register for the March 8th webinar. It’s free, open to anyone (you don’t have to be a paid Après member) AND you’ll get the recording.
As a company of all work-from-home women since 2010, we are our work. The team at Hay There is thrilled to help any mom, anytime, anywhere reclaim her professional pride by becoming her own employer. We are excited for all the conversations around International Women’s Day during Women’s History month – in March and throughout the entire year!
