Meet Our INstructors
Our leadership team boasts thriving women owned agency experience, traditional corporate executive backgrounds, successful sales team builders, and others are celebrated journalists. When you work with Hay There Social Media, you work with all of us. Allow us to introduce ourselves!
Emily A. Hay
After the early part of her sales career in corporate America, she paved her own way by using social media as her vehicle. Back in 2010 when even large companies were just testing the social media waters, Emily not only had the vanguard idea of starting a company to address the digital marketing needs of small business owners, but she hired a remote work-from-home team of all women—mothers—who had temporarily sidelined their careers to raise children.
Following her passions led Emily to owning her purpose as she works to help women launch their own social media businesses so they too can live and work flexibly and intentionally in what she has dubbed, Work+Life Integration Nation.™
As an advocate for professional systems, Emily A. Hay, and her husband shared their journey to find a fair system to run the invisible work in their household in the FAIR PLAY Documentary, produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom (First Partner of California & Founder of The Representation Project) and based off the NYTimes Bestselling book by Eve Rodsky. The documentary is available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, VUDU, YouTube and other video streaming services.
Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. She attended the Max M. Fisher College of Business with a focus on Marketing.
Alison Spitzer
Alison Spitzer, a mom of 3, brings to Hay There 15 years of leadership wearing many hats in automotive retail. Namely, she managed a complex and evolving marketing plan that led to many great partnerships in five very different markets nationwide.
No stranger to rolling up her sleeves, Alison emerged as a leader for a successful grassroots effort to save dealerships during the manufacturer bankruptcies of the late 2000s. She was responsible for fundraising, lobbying Congress, and encouraged hundreds of business owners to join the movement. Ultimately, thousands of people were given their businesses back as a result of the group’s efforts.
Alison is proud to be one of the few women in automotive retail to become a Dealer Owner. After years of collaboration with team members and real time problem solving, there are very few scenarios she has not encountered on her journey through retail and various leadership roles. As a working mom to 3, Alison knows precisely the challenges women face who are expected to work like they aren’t a parent and parent like they don’t work.
Alison is a published author, and also honored to have served as a board member for various city, state and national dealer associations. She is internationally recognized as one of the 100 leading women in North America for successfully navigating through unprecedented industry and economic challenges while living the struggle working mothers face. From her experience, she knew there was a better way for women through work+life integration.
She received her BA from Elon University, and her MA from American University, School of International Service. Before joining the automotive arena, she worked and lived in Manhattan. At the Business Council for International Understanding, she supported Fortune 500 leaders, and diplomats from around the globe to promote US investment in foreign countries in nearly every industry.
Alison currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband and three children.
