How We Network as a Community

At Hay There Social Media, we never stop seeking new experiences for our community of work life integrators that demonstrate our commitment to continued professional development. We are proud to count ourselves as partners and collaborators with a diverse mix of like minded, and thought leading organizations as well as individuals.

Speaking of like-minded organizations, Mother Honestly, founded by visionary, Blessing Adesiyan, recently held their Start to Flourish” summit in NYC.  In Mother Honestly’s words, the intention of Start to Flourish is about “looking forward with solutions and optimism. We will examine innovative and sustainable solutions that are giving us hope, and properly articulate what women and working families need from partners, employers, and society at large. And finally, we will network, find community, and look towards the future with hope as we navigate a rapidly changing landscape at home, in the workplace, and in our society.”

The team at Hay There could not imagine a more aligned mission: to empower women by equipping them with more professional options, community support and awareness around the societal factors that either help or impede our progress. With a line up of deeply influential and innovative women, such as storyteller and inclusion champion, Mita Mallick and Lisa Barnett of Little Spoon. The fireside chats and discussions spoke to not only WHAT they have proved by experience is available to women professionally, but also HOW these leaders are integrating work and life, as well as the precedent and message setting boundaries that demonstrate their priorities in a way their colleagues can admire.

Hay There Social Media INsider Attends Mother Honestly’s Start To Flourish Summit

We were thrilled to have a Hay There Social Media INsider, Leyla Bolho-Garlatti, an accomplished freelance PR professional, attend!  Based in Brooklyn, Leyla has had a successful freelance career which she chose to supplement with Hay There Social Media’s training and INsider community involvement to enhance her client offerings. Leyla shared that sessions were, “so interesting and insightful!! Love it!!”

Leyla personified the purpose behind Hay There’s work by making attendance at this summit a priority. While her children were at school, Leyla was excited to commit her time to professional growth by jumping at the chance to attend an event that offered new solutions to the real issues we see facing women every day.  (Seriously…we know how much *invisible* work it takes to make attending possible.)

Solutions for Women

One of the forward-thinking solutions was presented by Blessing herself!  A new, more user friendly approach to employer support of their associates’ lives known as the “Work-Life Wallet”. Mother Honestly recognized the lack of awareness and use of Employee Assistance Program in their current state, and has built technology that will both allow companies to provide their associates with resources for support, while maintaining anonymity through Mother Honestly as an intermediary.

Leyla was energized from networking with progressive, forward-thinking women that are a part of the Mother Honestly community.  Later this month, Leyla will have the chance to share her perspective and takeaways with fellow INsiders at an upcoming “Hay There Huddle”, and hear what great experiences other members of the Hay There Social Media community have had recently. The beauty of this collaboration is the unexpected light bulb moment, where an idea or experience connects INsiders across the country.  We look forward to continued camaraderie with Mother Honestly as we work tirelessly to normalize discussion around work life integration, and empower caregivers everywhere.
