More than 100 metro Detroit women recently attended a Mom’s Night Out event hosted by Hay There Social Media to screen the new documentary, FAIR PLAY, based on the NYT-bestseller by Eve Rodsky.

The event was held at The Maple Theater in Birmingham, Michigan.

FAIR PLAY makes the invisible care work historically held by women visible, inspiring a more balanced future for all. The film features families of all backgrounds, and seeks to push the envelope when it comes to gender roles and caretaking in the home.

Our own founder, Emily A. Hay, and her husband, Niall, were an integral part of the film. Setting their vulnerabilities aside, they pulled back the curtain to share their own journey to find balance at home, demonstrating how even the smallest fights are actually linked to systemic issues affecting families across the globe.

The film seeks to answer the now-more-than-ever-urgent question: “How can I reclaim some of my own time while maintaining—and even thriving—in the other aspects of my busy life?”

As author Eve Rodsky stresses, “For women to be able to step into their power in the world, men have to step into their power at home.”

Following the film screening, audience members shared their thoughts and actionable takeaways from the film, which was written, produced, and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom and in partnership with Hello Sunshine.

Women in the audience nodded along as many shared their own struggles of finding “balance” at home, and learned from each other steps that can be taken to equalize our time and responsibilities in the home.

During the event, women also learned about the Work + Life Integration system that Hay There Social Media teaches women to tap into as freelance social media professionals.

Our proven 6-week training program helps women be their own boss, all from the comfort of their own home office.

Women are invited to schedule a call with our team at anytime to learn what being a social media professional could look like for them. Follow this link to learn more.

Viewers are invited to watch FAIR PLAY on Gravitas Movies, Vudu Movie & TV Store, VUDU, ROW8, Prime Video, Apple TV or on your Roku device.
