1. Make it easy for your fans and followers to find you: Put your social media icons on your Web site in an easily found location. Make it clear you are on multiple sites.

2. Review your fans and followers and make a connection with them. Reach out. People love a personal touch.

3. If there are any outlets that are consistently clogging up your feed or timeline, go ahead and unfollow. If you aren’t getting value, make room for other pages you love. Also, think about ways to best serve your audience. For example, does your blog have a Pinterest button? Think outside the box. Make it super easy for people to share your content.

4. Review your contact information. Make sure it’s current and fresh. Make sure your location is easily found and on EVERY social media profile.

5. When was the last time you updated your profile picture? Are you still wearing a Santa hat? It’s time for a fresh look. It might be worth it to hire a professional photographer for a crisp, classic headshot or a charming candid.

6. Have you updated your business cards lately? Make sure your social media icons (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) are included. Let people know you are available on all platforms – and don’t forget to BE available on these sites as well.

7. Update the “about” section on your social media profiles. Facebook’s about section is critical for Google and SEO purposes (this tip is from social media guru Mari Smith – but we think it’s so important). Clearly link to your Web site.

8. In your blog posts, be sure to include at least ONE inbound link.

9. Don’t forget to set aside some of your spring cleaning budget for social media paid ads on Facebook and promoted Tweets on Twitter. Organic reach is getting reduced every day.

10. And finally, make sure you check your online reviews on social media regularly. Respond to your fans – and your critics. Answer questions and concerns.
